Notorious Transformer Vandal Gang Apprehended in Ogun State: Stolen Tools and Vehicles Recovered

In a major breakthrough, the police in Ogun State have successfully arrested a notorious gang of transformer vandals operating in the Owode Egba axis of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area. One member of the gang, identified as Adewole Adekunle, was apprehended during the operation, while the others managed to escape. However, they abandoned their tools and a bus used for their criminal activities.

The police were alerted to the suspicious activities of the gang by residents of Showo community along the Kobape Sagamu-Abeokuta Express in the early hours of Friday morning. Acting swiftly, operatives from Owode Egba Police Division, led by CSP Popoola Olasunkanmi, responded to the distress call and successfully arrested Adewole Adekunle. He resides in Eleko in the Aja area of Lagos State.

Unfortunately, the remaining gang members fled into the bush, leaving behind key evidence. The abandoned items include a Volkswagen bus with the registration number EKY 202 YG Lagos State, along with its documents. Additionally, the police recovered several tools used by the gang, such as a digger, a chisel, big spanners, small bolts, and a polythene bag containing different clothes. Moreover, the gang had vandalized two transformers, one of which belonged to the Showo community.

The police are currently intensifying their efforts to track down the remaining members of this notorious gang of vandals. Their swift arrest and subsequent prosecution will serve as a strong deterrent to other individuals contemplating similar criminal acts. The Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, has instructed that the culprit, Adewole Adekunle, be charged to court.
