(Yemeni News Agency) – Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed expresses deep concern and condemnation over the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, stating that they are being subjected to a blatant act of aggression, a full-scale war crime, and an attempt at genocide. Saeed made these remarks during a meeting with the US Special Envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking, and the US Ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin.

During the meeting, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Yemeni Prime Minister emphasized the unwavering stance of Yemen’s leaders, government, and people in supporting the Palestinian cause. He called for urgent action to assist the Palestinian people, who are facing severe and widespread aggression from the Israeli occupation forces.

Saeed particularly denounced the recent bombing of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, which resulted in numerous casualties among women and children. He described this attack as a heinous crime that flagrantly violated international humanitarian conventions and laws. The Prime Minister urged the international community to intervene and put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The conflict in Gaza erupted following a series of provocations, including the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and increasing violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians. Palestinians, represented by the group Hamas, responded with Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a coordinated offensive that involved rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel by land, sea, and air. In response, the Israeli military launched Operation Swords of Iron, targeting Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip.

The situation in Gaza has rapidly deteriorated, with the blockade exacerbating a dire humanitarian crisis. The lack of electricity, scarcity of water, food shortages, and dwindling medical supplies have pushed the region to the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an immediate ceasefire to alleviate the epic human suffering.

Sadly, the conflict has taken a heavy toll on both sides. Israeli attacks on Gaza have claimed the lives of at least 3,785 Palestinians, while more than 1,400 Israelis have lost their lives in the ongoing violence. The escalating death toll and immense suffering highlight the urgent need for international intervention to end this devastating conflict.

In conclusion, the Yemeni Prime Minister’s condemnation of Israeli aggression against the Palestinians as an attempt at genocide underscores the gravity of the situation. Urgent action is required to protect and support the Palestinian people who are caught in the midst of this destructive conflict. The international community must unite to bring an immediate end to the violence and work towards a just and lasting solution for all parties involved.
