At least 31 Myanmar junta forces, including pro-junta militia members, were killed in four days of clashes with resistance forces as the People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) continued to attack regime targets across the country. The incidents took place in several states and regions, including Kachin, Chin, Sagaing, Magwe, Mandalay, and Bago.
One significant attack by the PDFs occurred in Shwegu Township, Kachin State. The Myohla PDF group triggered improvised land mines, ambushing a military unit of 100 troops raiding villages along the Irrawaddy River. The attack resulted in 10 junta troops being killed and 15 others seriously injured.
In another incident, the Tharawaddy District PDF Battalion 3802 claimed to have killed two pro-junta militia members named Chit Hmawe and Kaung San in the Bago Yoma Mountains of Minhla Township, Bago Region. The militia members were allegedly transporting charcoal illegally while assisting the military regime.
A clash in Pauk Township, Magwe Region, led to the deaths of two pro-regime militia members and three resistance fighters. The Chauk Guerilla Force reported that several resistance groups jointly attacked military bases in the pro-junta village of Tat Kone, where Pyu Saw Htee militia members are recruited. The resistance forces also faced an attack from a junta Mi-35 helicopter gunship.
In Yesagyo Township, Magwe Region, the Myingyan Black Tiger PDF group attempted to occupy a junta base in Hin Thar Village, resulting in numerous regime forces being killed and injured. However, the resistance group had to abandon their mission when their rocket-propelled grenade launcher was damaged in an accident.
Clashes between the Chin Defense Force (Kanpetlet) and regime troops in Kanpetlet Township, Chin State, led to the deaths of at least 13 junta soldiers over two days. The resistance groups also faced airstrikes from five fighter jets, causing damage to buildings, including a church.
The Civilians’ Defense and Security Organization of Myaung reported a drone strike on a township police station in Myaung Town, Sagaing Region. In response, the regime forces from the police station fired weapons, but military casualties are unknown. A drone accident caused injuries to three resistance members.
A police outpost in Pale Township, Sagaing Region, was bombed by resistance drones coordinated by the Eagle Brigade and three other resistance groups. In Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, the Black Wolf Army and other resistance groups clashed with a military unit, resulting in two regime forces being killed. Drones were also used to drop bombs on the junta forces during this clash.
Lastly, the Natogyi PDF claimed to have killed two regime troops in Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region. Land mines were triggered to ambush the regime forces near a mountain.
These clashes between the resistance forces and the junta highlight the ongoing struggle and defiance against the military regime in Myanmar. The resistance groups continue their attacks on various regime targets, inflicting casualties and disrupting junta operations. As the conflict intensifies, the situation remains volatile with security forces and civilians caught in the crossfire.
