Unraveling Russia’s Dubious Explanation for the Kakhovka Dam Breach

New evidence gathered by open-source intelligence (OSINT) reportedly proves that Russia was behind the destruction of the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine. According to a report from Ukrainian consultancy group Molfar, the OSINT community analyzed photos, satellite images, surveillance video, and Russian Telegram channels to identify the probable causes of the dam’s collapse. The dam was breached on June 6 and Russia maintains it wasn’t behind the event. However, Newsweek has been told that evidence is growing that the country was involved in the dam’s collapse. The Norwegian Institute NORSAR said it analyzed seismic signals from a regional station in Romania that pointed to an explosion at 2.54 a.m.
