Tragic Collision on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway Claims 7 Lives
On August 25, 2023, a devastating collision between a truck and a microbus on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Narsingdi, Bangladesh, resulted in the loss of seven lives and left four others injured. The accident occurred around 2am in the Etakhola area, under Shibpur upazila of the district.
According to Inspector Md Kabir Hossain, the in-charge of Itakhola Highway police outpost, the collision was a head-on collision between a microbus heading towards Sylhet and a truck coming from the opposite direction on the highway.
The impact of the collision was severe, claiming five lives at the scene of the accident. Unfortunately, another person succumbed to their injuries while being transported to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, and a final victim passed away after being admitted to the hospital. The injured individuals were initially taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital but were later shifted to Dhaka for further treatment, as informed by Inspector Kabir.
