Three dedicated Sequim volunteers — Renne Emiko Brock, Carol Labbe, and Pauline Olsen — have been named finalists for the 2023 Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award. The trio will be honored at the Citizen of the Year luncheon, to be held on Tuesday at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course. The winner will be revealed during the event. Interested attendees can register through the Sequim-Dungeness Chamber of Commerce.

Carol Labbe, a nominee recognized for her extensive community work, has played a crucial role in raising funds for Seattle Children’s Hospital. Renowned for her dedication, creativity, and successful partnerships, Labbe exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism that benefits the region.

Renne Emiko Brock has been actively involved in promoting art in Sequim for over 18 years. Her contributions to the First Friday Art Walk, North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival, and various other community events have significantly enriched the local arts scene. Pauline Olsen, inspired by personal experiences, founded Lois’ Legacy to enhance senior care quality in nursing and assisted living facilities. Her organization offers valuable resources and support to seniors looking to maintain independence and autonomy in their homes. Olsen’s dedication and passion serve as an inspiration to her peers and the community at large.
