Three British nationals who were reported missing after their scuba diving boat caught fire off Egypt’s Red Sea are now confirmed to be dead. The boat, named Hurricane, carried 15 British passengers, 10 crew members, and two guides. Initial investigations suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit in the boat’s engine room. While the rescue team saved all the tourists, the three British victims remained sleeping in their bedroom when the rescue boats arrived. Reports suggest the fire was worsened by the explosion of diving oxygen tubes. This tragic incident occurred as the coasts of the Red Sea Governorate gradually reopened following a short closure due to a recent shark attack that killed a Russian citizen in Hurghada. The identities of the deceased British nationals have not been revealed.
