Thieves stole Rs. 1.10 lakh from a resident of Vidyaranyapuram in Mysuru. The victim, Harirao Mane, withdrew the money from the Karnataka Bank in Chamundipuram on June 6. He kept the cash in the dashboard of his car and parked it in front of a construction firm on the fourth cross of Saraswathipuram. When he returned to his car after visiting the Saraswathipuram branch, he discovered that the left side window of the vehicle had been smashed open and the money was missing.
The Saraswathipuram Police have launched an investigation into the theft. It is uncertain if there are any leads yet. Theft from cars is not uncommon in Mysuru, especially when people leave their belongings inside, and the city has seen several such incidents in the past.
