Teen Brothers Create Jaw-Dropping 6ft KLCC Sculpture from Recycled Bottles, Go Viral on TikTok

Two teenage brothers from Kuala Lumpur, Ahmad Afiq Mohd Zailani, 15, and Afif Mohd Zailani, 16, have achieved viral fame on TikTok with their incredible sculpture of the KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) made entirely from recycled bottles. What started as a childhood passion for art has now become a stunning masterpiece that has captivated viewers worldwide.

Ahmad Afiq, also known as Afiqxcasting on TikTok, initially gained recognition in kindergarten when he won fourth place for his KLCC sculpture made from straws. Building on his early success, he and his brother Afif embarked on their most ambitious project yet – a six-foot tall KLCC sculpture using only recycled bottles.
Collecting bottles from reputable brands like Spritzer, Cactus, and Seamaster, the brothers started their endeavor on July 27. With 670 bottles collected so far, they tirelessly work on the sculpture after school, often working late into the night to ensure timely completion. Their dedication stems from their desire to enter the work into a TikTok video contest.

While their masterpiece is yet to be finalized, its progress videos have already gone viral on TikTok, gaining attention and admiration from people around the world. Despite the judging for the contest taking place after August 31, it is evident that the brothers’ KLCC sculpture has already won the hearts of many.

Their father, Mohd Zailani Juni, 40, has also been actively involved in collecting bottles to support his sons’ creative endeavor. Following the viral success on TikTok, he received an invitation from the Selangor Information Department to submit their entry to Anugerah Semarak Gemilang 2023, a prestigious award for outstanding achievements.

The brothers’ artistic talent combined with their commitment to sustainable practices has caught the attention of both local and international communities. The use of recycled bottles not only showcases their creativity but also promotes environmental consciousness and the importance of recycling.

With plans to incorporate the state and national flags into the sculpture to commemorate Merdeka Day, the brothers’ ambition and talent seem boundless. Their ability to transform discarded materials into a stunning work of art serves as an inspiration to many, reminding us of the potential beauty that can be created through dedication and imagination.

As the completion of their KLCC sculpture draws near, the world eagerly awaits the final result. Regardless of the outcome of the TikTok video contest, Ahmad Afiq and Afif have already made an impact with their awe-inspiring creation. Their story serves as a reminder that passion, creativity, and a commitment to sustainability can truly make a difference, capturing the hearts of people worldwide.
