NMC Changes Age Limit for NEET UG Exam

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has revised the minimum age criterion for NEET UG, requiring candidates to complete 17 years by Jan 31st of the admission year. Additionally, the GMER-23 has clarified eligibility requirements, while a common counseling process will be implemented for graduate medical courses. The UGMEB will publish guidelines and model curricula, and offer choice-based credit courses. Some welcome the regulations for increasing transparency, but concerns have been raised about age criteria making students ineligible. Former DMER director Pravin Shingare has advised central government to streamline the admission process.
