StarTimes, a digital TV operator serving over 45 million users across Africa, is celebrating its 35th anniversary with exciting offers for its loyal customers and a vision to become an international media group.

Founded in 1988 by Chinese engineer Pang Xinxing, StarTimes began as a small workshop in Beijing. Today, it is a major provider of TV entertainment broadcasting in Africa, with over 700 channels on its content platform and operations in thirty countries.

StarTimes offers a diverse range of content, including news, movies, series, sports, entertainment, children’s programming, fashion and religion. The platform provides local African and international channels, with some of the most popular content being original productions like ‘Hello Mr Right’ and local drama series like ‘Jenifa’s Diary.’

To mark its milestone anniversary, StarTimes is launching a consumer reward promo for its customers. From June 12 to August 31, customers will receive instant upgrades to the next higher bouquet when they recharge their current bouquet for two months. Classic/Super bouquet subscribers will receive fifteen extra days when they pay for a two-month recharge. New customers will also receive massive discounts on decoder purchases.

Joshua Wang, CEO of StarTimes Nigeria, expressed gratitude for the support and trust of the company’s customers over the years. He confirmed that StarTimes would continue providing quality, affordable TV entertainment for every African household.

Our affordable and flexible subscription options, diverse and quality content platform, pioneering role in digital migration and innovation, strategic partnerships, and social responsibility position us to achieve our vision to become a media group with international influence, said Mr. Wang.

With a commitment to providing quality TV entertainment for every African family and a vision to expand globally, StarTimes remains a significant player in the African broadcasting industry.
