SMEFs Brick School of Architecture in Pune, India has been recognised for its innovative sustainable design solutions at the Solar Decathlon India 2023 competition. The Net Zero competition saw SMEFs Brick School of Architecture take first place in the community resilience shelter category as part of the Samakrut team, while Team LENS secured the first runners-up position in the educational building category. The Solar Decathlon India 2023 competition, held in Mysore, brought together 83 student teams from Indian institutions, competing across six categories to combat climate change through building and design. Led by the Principal of SMEFs Brick School of Architecture, Dr Poorva Keskar, the initiative aimed to foster radical thinking and innovation for a sustainable future.
