Size-Inclusive Fashion Mission: TikTok Sensation Remi Bader Urges Luxury Brands to Embrace All Body Types

Remi Bader, the 28-year-old TikTok sensation with a following of 2.3 million, is on a mission to ensure the fashion industry becomes truly size-inclusive. While she acknowledges the progress made in recent years to embrace plus-size models and cater to diverse body types, Bader firmly believes that luxury brands still have a long way to go.

In an interview with POPSUGAR, Bader expressed her frustrations, saying, Although there has been an increase in size inclusivity overall with brands carrying more plus sizes in the last 10 years, higher fashion brands, especially those showcased during Fashion Week, have become increasingly less inclusive in recent seasons. As a plus-size woman advocating for size inclusivity, this is very frustrating.

Bader highlights the fact that the average US woman wears a size 16 to 18. She argues that luxury brands could benefit by catering to this market and thereby gaining more customers and generating higher revenue.

As a leader in the design space, Bader has partnered with Revolve to create collections that go up to size 4X. Additionally, she regularly shares videos on social media showcasing her favorite plus-size-friendly retailers. Her influence extends beyond social media as she has been a brand ambassador for Victoria’s Secret, and has collaborated with Free People, Nordstrom, and ASOS.

Bader recently spoke at the MAGIC Fashion Trade Show in Las Vegas, where she reiterated her commitment to reshaping the fashion industry. Reflecting on the experience, she said, Speaking at MAGIC meant a lot to me for many reasons. It was a full-circle moment because my dad, who is in the garment center, has been attending MAGIC for years. I used to go with him when I was young, so having the opportunity to speak there was an incredible honor. I am truly passionate about reshaping the fashion industry and the chance to engage with boutique owners and brands in person was invaluable.

Bader’s advocacy for size inclusivity is gaining traction, and she hopes that luxury brands will take notice and make the necessary changes to cater to all body types. Her message speaks not only to the fashion industry but also to society as a whole, emphasizing the importance of embracing diversity and promoting body positivity.
