Shooting at Holy Shrine in Shiraz Leaves One Dead & Assailant Arrested
A holy shrine in Iran’s southern city of Shiraz has once again been targeted in a deadly attack. This marks the second attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in less than a year, raising concerns about security and the safety of worshippers.

The incident took place on Sunday evening when a gunman entered the shrine through its southern gate. Initially, reports indicated that there were two shooters, but the provincial commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Yadollah Bouali, clarified that there was only one assailant involved in the attack.
The gunman, armed with an assault rifle and carrying eight magazines loaded with 240 bullets, opened fire inside the shrine. Four people were shot, resulting in one fatality.
