It was hunters in this region who initially alerted the Sheriff’s Office on October 5th after discovering a suspicious white Ford Escape parked on a forest service road. Deputies later confirmed that the vehicle belonged to Chelsea Grimm, but she and her pet bearded dragon, Roz or Roxy, were nowhere to be found.
A breakthrough in the investigation came when the police discovered a camera inside the vehicle. The camera contained selfies of Chelsea Grimm wearing the shirt she was last seen in, as well as images of her vehicle and the face mask she usually wears. According to authorities, Chelsea Grimm had been en route from San Diego to Connecticut when she made a stop in Arizona. The last confirmed sighting of her occurred on September 28th in Williams, Arizona.
