Russian Invasion in Ukraine: Daily Battle Updates, Civilian Casualties, and Counterattacks
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released operational information on the Russian invasion as of 18:00 on November 3, 2023. It is the 618th day of the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
According to the report, there were 53 combat engagements throughout the day. The enemy launched 1 missile and 67 air strikes, along with 40 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems targeting the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there have been civilian casualties, and private residential buildings and civilian infrastructure have been destroyed and damaged.
The situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult. In the Volyn and Polissia directions, there have been no signs of offensive groups forming, but certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence in border areas, conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling settlements from Russian territory, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Numerous settlements, including Karpovichi, Yeline, Kostobobriv, Seredyna-Buda, Volodymyrivka, Stepok, Pletenivka, Volovchansk, and Bolohivka, have been hit by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault actions near Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Stelmakhivka, where Ukrainian soldiers repelled 7 attacks. Airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Novoselivka, Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, and Pishchane. Additionally, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove were hit by artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy did not launch offensive operations but carried out airstrikes in the areas of Proletarskyi and Serebryanskyi forestry, as well as Siversk. Artillery and mortar shelling by the occupiers affected more than 10 settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Torske, and Rozdolivka.
The enemy in the Bakhmut direction attempted to restore its lost position in the Klishchiivka area several times but failed. Unsuccessful assaults were also made near Bohdanivka and Khromove. The enemy carried out an airstrike in the Khromove area, and approximately 15 settlements, such as Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Andriivka, and Chasiv Yar, were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, with aviation support, conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Stepove, Tonenke, Avdiivka, Sieverne, and Pervomaiske. Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled 17 attacks. Airstrikes were also launched near Avdiivka, and around 10 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka and Pervomaiske, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Marinka direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka, where Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled over 14 attacks. The enemy also conducted airstrikes in the same areas, and settlements like Krasnohorivka and Pobieda were targeted by artillery and mortar fire.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Vodiane, Vuhledar, Staromaiorske, and south of Zolota Nyva. Artillery and mortar shelling impacted approximately 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Prechystivka, and Blahodatne.
The Zaporizhzhia direction witnessed unsuccessful attempts by the occupiers to restore their lost position in the Robotyne area. Over 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Huliaipilske, and Charivne, were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy targeted Kherson, Antonivka, and Solonchaky with artillery fire.
However, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction and offensive operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflicting losses on the occupation forces and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
Throughout the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 9 strikes on areas where the enemy concentrated personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as 2 strikes on anti-aircraft guided missile systems. The air defense forces destroyed 11 reconnaissance UAVs, 24 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, and an enemy X-59 missile.
Additionally, units of the missile forces hit 7 areas with concentrations of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, an electronic warfare station, a radar station, 2 ammunition depots, and 10 enemy artillery weapons.
The situation on the ground remains challenging, with ongoing combat engagements, civilian casualties, and destruction of civilian infrastructure. Ukrainian forces continue to defend their territory and push back against the aggressor, inflicting losses on the enemy. The international community closely monitors the situation and calls for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
