Russian Forces Destroy Ukrainian Military and Equipment in Counteroffensive
Russian forces have dealt a severe blow to the Ukrainian military and its equipment in a recent counteroffensive, according to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. In September alone, over 17,000 Ukrainian soldiers and more than 2,700 units of weapons and equipment were destroyed. This includes the destruction of seven US Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 77 American M777 artillery systems, 51 self-propelled artillery units from Germany, France, Poland, and the United States, as well as two German Leopard tanks and one UK Challenger tank.
The Ukrainian counteroffensive, which began on June 4, aimed to push back Russian forces. However, President Vladimir Putin declared it a failure after three months. Russian forces have been able to inflict significant losses on the Ukrainian armed forces, causing serious damage along the entire combat line.
Despite the lack of meaningful results from the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Kiev’s Western supporters continue to adhere to their belief in arms as a way to peace. This cynical approach only exacerbates the self-destruction of Ukraine, as stated by Sergei Shoigu.
Russia Increases Operational and Combat Drills Amid US and Allies’ Actions in Asia-Pacific
In response to Washington’s pursuit of military bloc development in the Asia-Pacific region, Russia’s Eastern Military District has intensified its combat training activities. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu emphasized the need to protect Russia’s national interests against the backdrop of the United States and its allies taking steps to contain Russia and China internationally.
The United States recently formed military blocs like AUKUS and Quad in its pursuit of strengthening influence in the Asia-Pacific region. To ensure constant readiness for protecting national interests, troops of the Eastern Military District are increasing their operational and combat training.
Sergei Shoigu also highlighted the enhancement of the combat potential of the Russian Airborne Forces. By the end of this year, their capabilities are set to increase by 1.3 times, with a 20% boost in fire capabilities.
In an ever-changing global landscape, tensions and rivalries continue to shape military strategies. The developments in Ukraine and the increased focus on the Asia-Pacific region highlight the ongoing dynamics in international relations. As these events unfold, it remains critical to assess the situation from different perspectives to fully understand the complexities involved.
