Diversified business conglomerate Refex Group has pledged to plant 100,000 trees across Tamil Nadu in the coming years as part of its Trees for Life campaign, which was launched on World Environment Day. The company is partnering with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Greater Chennai Corporation to plant 10,000 trees this year alone. Nearly 2,000 tree saplings were planted as part of the campaign’s launch in Chennai. Refex Group is known for its involvement in refrigerant gases, ash and coal handling. Refex Group Managing Director Anil Jain said: The ‘Trees for Life’ project aims to arrest climate change and lead to ecosystem restoration.
