Rahul Gandhi Criticizes PM Modi’s BJP Government, Vows to Prioritize Welfare of the Poor

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech at an event in Chhattisgarh, which is heading towards elections. Gandhi asserted that the Modi-led government prioritizes the interests of billionaires, while the Congress-governed state would focus on uplifting the poor.

Addressing the crowd at the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club in Nava Raipur, Gandhi stated that the governments in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh would all work towards serving the needs of the underprivileged, rather than favoring influential individuals like Adani.

Furthermore, Gandhi accused the BJP of deliberately marginalizing tribal communities by referring to them as Vanvasi instead of Adivasi. This, according to him, is a strategy to discourage them from venturing out of the forests and pursuing their dreams in various fields.

Taking a swipe at PM Modi over the Gautam Adani stock manipulation allegations, which were recently exposed, Gandhi claimed that Modi would not initiate an inquiry into Adani’s affairs because the repercussions would not affect Adani but someone else.

Drawing on the Karnataka election, Gandhi highlighted how the BJP always boasts of securing a high number of seats before every election, but in reality, the majority of the people, particularly the poor, have voted in favor of the Congress party.

Moreover, Gandhi blamed the BJP for inflicting severe damage on India’s economy, asserting that policies such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and demonetization were specifically designed to destroy small businesses.

Supporting Gandhi’s views, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel emphasized that the Congress party constantly strives to empower the common people and ensure their rights.

In response, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah, while addressing a gathering in Saraipali, accused CM Bhupesh Baghel of stealing rice meant for the poor and the tribal communities. Shah vowed that the BJP would prevent Chhattisgarh from becoming the Congress party’s ATM (Automated Teller Machine).

Commenting on the ongoing political scenario, BJP leader Sidharth Nath Singh criticized the Chhattisgarh government and claimed that Amit Shah had lodged serious allegations against the ruling Congress government in the state. Singh asserted that the people were fed up with the current government and desired to remove the Congress from power.

As the poll-bound state of Chhattisgarh witnesses intense political exchanges, Rahul Gandhi’s statements have further intensified the political battle, with both the Congress and the BJP presenting different narratives. It remains to be seen how these exchanges will shape the upcoming elections and the future governance of the state.
