The University of Oklahoma’s women’s softball team has made history by becoming the second team ever to win three consecutive national titles. After defeating Florida State 3-1 in the Women’s College World Series, the team and Coach Patty Gasso credited their success to their faith in Christ. During a press conference, the players praised God and shared their joy in Christ as the source of their motivation. Team captain Grace Lyons acknowledged that the only way to have a joy that doesn’t fade away is from the Lord, and teammate Jayda Coleman shared her experience of finding Christ. Infielder Alyssa Brito explained the team’s eye’s up gesture as a way to fix their eyes on Christ and remind themselves that they are living to exemplify the Kingdom. The team’s unwavering faith and devotion to Christ have been a core component of their success on and off the field, proving that their hard work is not just for the win, but to glorify God.
