Ohio Extends Free Employment Assistance to Former Yellow Corp Employees
In a bid to support the employees affected by the closure of Yellow Corp, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) has announced a comprehensive package of free employment services. Yellow Corp recently ceased operations, leaving many workers without a job. ODJFS is reaching out to these former employees through its Rapid Response team, which specializes in assisting individuals after layoffs.
Recognizing the challenges faced by the affected individuals and their families, ODJFS Director Matt Damschroder emphasized the importance of making sure they are aware of the available benefits, resources, and opportunities in Ohio. Each former Yellow employee will receive an information packet containing details on how to access the free employment services as well as guidance on applying for unemployment benefits and other assistance programs.
The Rapid Response Services offered by ODJFS are designed to help workers navigate the challenges of job loss and provide them with the necessary support to find new employment. By partnering with various stakeholders and utilizing their extensive network, ODJFS aims to connect displaced workers with job opportunities suitable to their skills and experience.
We understand that this is an incredibly difficult time for everyone affected, and we want to offer our assistance during this transitional period, Director Damschroder stated. Our dedicated team is committed to helping former Yellow Corp employees access the resources they need to regain stability and ensure a successful transition to their next employment opportunity.
Former employees of Yellow Corp are encouraged to visit the Rapid Response Services website or reach out to the team via email at RAPDRESP@jfs.ohio.gov for more information. Through this initiative, Ohio strives to demonstrate its commitment to supporting its workforce and facilitating a smooth transition for those impacted by company closures.
