Nepalis Demand Immediate Rescue of Loved Ones Trapped in Israel Amidst Hamas Attack

Residents of Nepal gathered near the prime minister’s office on Tuesday, holding candles aloft as they pleaded for the safe return of their loved ones from Israel. The recent attack by the Palestinian group Hamas has left at least 10 Nepali citizens dead, while others remain hidden in underground shelters.

Seeking to draw attention to their cause, the crowd displayed placards that read, Bring back our brothers and sisters now and Unite in Light for Nepali lives. The emotional pleas highlighted the desperate situation faced by Nepali families anxiously awaiting news of their trapped relatives.

Narayan Bahadur Kumal, a concerned father, shared that his son Chandan, 25, who is currently studying agriculture in Israel, managed to survive the attack but is now taking shelter in a bunker. With tears in his eyes, Narayan recalled his son’s reassuring phone call, You need not worry – I am safe. However, videos depicting the cramped conditions within the bunkers have stirred up deep anguish in the hearts of family members, who are now urging the government to expedite the rescue process.

Sewa Lamsal, spokesperson for Nepal’s ministry of foreign affairs, assured the public that the government is actively working to repatriate the bodies of the deceased and evacuate those seeking to return home. Currently, around 300 people have registered for evacuation assistance.

According to reports from Israel’s embassy in Washington, the death toll resulting from Hamas’ weekend attacks has surpassed 1,000. Tragically, the majority of victims were innocent civilians, targeted in their homes, on the streets, or even at a celebration.

In response to Israel’s retaliatory strikes, Gaza’s health ministry stated that at least 770 people have been killed, with over 4,000 reportedly injured.

Authorities in Nepal and Israel are collaborating to ensure the safe evacuation and repatriation of Nepali citizens affected by the conflict. As the crisis escalates, the international community is closely watching for further developments and diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the violence, ensuring the security and well-being of all involved.

The plight of Nepali citizens caught in the crossfire of the conflict underscores the urgent need for humanitarian intervention. Efforts to rescue those trapped inside Israel and provide support to affected families are crucial in safeguarding lives and fostering a sense of unity during these trying times.

In conclusion, as the Nepali community anxiously awaits news of their loved ones, their rallying cries for assistance and rescue echo through the nation. The government’s commitment to the safe return of citizens caught in the conflict is a glimmer of hope amid the darkness of the ongoing strife.
