Minnesota Hunter Injured in Accidental Shooting Incident: 10-Year-Old Involved
A hunting trip took an unexpected turn when a 50-year-old Minnesota hunter was accidentally shot by a 10-year-old boy on Sunday morning. The incident occurred in Helga Township, located just south of Bemidji, and the hunter had to be airlifted for medical treatment.
According to the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, the hunter had taken the young boy along for a deer hunting excursion. At around 10 a.m., while the hunter was explaining the process of unloading a bolt-action Ruger .270 hunting rifle, the boy unintentionally pulled the trigger. The gun discharged, resulting in a bullet piercing both of the victim’s buttocks.
Swift action was taken to ensure the victim received immediate medical attention. He was first transported to Sanford Hospital in Bemidji and later airlifted to Fargo Hospital. The current condition of the injured hunter remains unknown at this time.
