Meta, which owns WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, has announced its partnership with the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) to upskill 10 lakh or one million traders on how to use the WhatsApp Business App. The objective of this initiative is to help small businesses scale up and reach more customers.
This three-year training programme will teach traders how to use the WhatsApp Business app effectively to expand their businesses. As part of the effort, Meta has also launched a Small Business Academy. This academy is aimed at helping emerging entrepreneurs learn digital marketing skills and earn a certification. The certification will especially help new entrepreneurs and marketers gain critical digital marketing skills to grow on the Meta apps, said the release.
To expand the availability of this training programme, the course module and examination will be available in English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.
This partnership is expected to help small business owners better understand how to use technology to expand their businesses. It will also help create more sustainable and competitive business practices in India. The programme will also enable small businesses to tap into the wide customer base offered by social media platforms like WhatsApp.
Meta’s partnership with CAIT and the launch of the Small Business Academy demonstrate the company’s commitment to supporting the growth of small businesses across India. The company aims to create a more robust and empowered digital environment that helps small businesses thrive.
In conclusion, the initiative taken by Meta to provide upskilling to one million traders is a positive step towards creating a more competitive digital economy. Through this partnership, more small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will have the opportunity to grow and compete with larger businesses. Furthermore, by offering the certification in several languages, this programme will have a wider reach, enabling even more SMEs to benefit from it.
