Three men in Gurugram, India were arrested after their desperate Instagram stunt landed them in hot water. The trio, in an attempt to gain more followers on the social media platform, filmed a car stunt reel on the busy Golf Course Road, causing a major traffic jam. Unfortunately for them, the video quickly went viral, catching the attention of local authorities who promptly apprehended them.
The viral video depicted a red Swift car being driven in reverse gear on the Golf Course Road, while three other cars followed suit, accompanied by a popular Haryanvi song playing in the background. However, instead of achieving their desired goal of increasing their follower count, the attention they garnered led them straight to the police station. Consequently, all three men were taken into custody and the three cars used in the stunt were seized by law enforcement.
Assistant Police Commissioner Kapil Ahlawat confirmed that the Swift car used for the stunt had been modified, with its color changed from white to red. The men in the vehicles were observed driving recklessly at high speeds on the Golf Course Road on October 23. They were recording a stunt reel while performing dangerous maneuvers in their cars, Ahlawat stated.
This incident is not an isolated case in Gurugram, as the city’s roads have often become the backdrop for perilous stunts. Several videos showcasing risky acts, such as setting off fireworks on vehicle rooftops, have recently gone viral, prompting the police to take action. Ahlawat urged youngsters to refrain from engaging in such activities, emphasizing that not only do these stunts endanger their own lives but also put others at risk.
In conclusion, the pursuit of increased Instagram followers led three men in Gurugram to land behind bars after their attention-grabbing car stunt reel caused traffic chaos. While such incidents may seem enticing for social media fame, the consequences can be severe, serving as a cautionary tale for individuals tempted to prioritize online popularity over safety.
