Former Duchess Meghan Markle has reportedly returned to social media with her own personal account, igniting speculation and excitement among her followers. This comes after she closed her blog and related Instagram and Twitter accounts prior to her marriage to Prince Harry. While it has not been officially confirmed that the account belongs to Meghan, there are several indications that suggest it is indeed her.
One of Meghan’s friends, Mandana Dayani, who previously worked with her and even appeared in the couple’s Netflix series, is following the alleged account. Additionally, author and activist Malala Yousafzai, who joined Harry and Meghan for a virtual chat in 2020, is also a follower. These connections point towards the legitimacy of the account.
Although no images have been shared on the account yet, it is expected that Meghan will have the ability to command a significant figure for sponsored posts if she chooses to do so. Moreover, it can serve as an excellent platform for her and Harry to inform people about their charitable endeavors and upcoming projects.
The account, with the handle @meghan, has been active for approximately a year and was reportedly created just before Meghan launched her now-defunct podcast, Archetypes. After marrying Prince Harry, Meghan closed her personal account and initially shared the handle @kensingtonroyal with him and Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. While Prince Harry’s family has gathered at Balmoral for their summer break, it is uncertain if the Sussexes will make an appearance. The decision to stay away may not necessarily be due to the rumored rift within the royal family or Prince Harry’s recent projects, such as his Netflix series and upcoming memoir. It could instead be because Archie, their son, is attending pre-school in the United States near their Montecito residence, where the school year typically begins in August.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, Archie’s cousins, have a few more weeks of summer before commencing school in early September. The Balmoral estate holds complex memories for Prince Harry, as it was the residence where he and Prince William received the devastating news of their mother, Princess Diana’s tragic death in a car crash in August 1997.
