A new exhibit is now open at Bentley University’s RSM Gallery that showcases Massachusetts artists with disabilities.
It doesn’t matter who makes the art. It’s just the art that matters, said the exhibit’s co-curator.
Face to Face is a collection of portraits created by professional artists working at Vinfen’s Gateway Arts. Gateway Arts provides a platform for adults with disabilities to enhance, showcase, and even sell their artwork. According to Gateway’s Artistic Director, the program helps artists express themselves and work as professionals, giving them a voice they may not always have the opportunity to share.
The exhibit inside Bentley University’s library aims to connect art with entrepreneurship, highlighting the skills artists need to market themselves. It coincides with Bentley’s Disability Awareness Week, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the full humanity and creativity of individuals with disabilities.
The public is invited to view the Face to Face exhibit until April 5 during Bentley University Library hours. This exhibit serves as a testament to the talents and perspectives of Massachusetts artists with disabilities, presenting an opportunity to appreciate the art and stories they share with the community.
