Finance Minister Sitharaman Unveils Economic Boost Plan for 2024-25, India

0

NEW DELHI: In her seventh consecutive Union Budget for 2024-25, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman outlined nine key priorities aimed at fostering economic growth and creating ample opportunities. These priorities encompass productivity, employment, social justice, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation, and reforms.

Sitharaman announced that the government is conducting a thorough review of research to develop seeds that are resilient to climate change. Over the next two years, the government plans to introduce one crore farmers to natural farming practices.

The finance minister also stated that the government will promote large-scale vegetable production clusters to boost output. Additionally, 109 new high-yielding, climate-resilient seeds for 32 field and horticulture crops will be released.

Sitharaman noted that the implementation of various schemes announced in the interim budget in February is still ongoing.

Tragic Death of Competitive Eater During Livestream Highlights Dangers of Extreme Eating, China

0

An extreme eater, 24, tragically died during a livestream after a 10-hour food binge. Pan Xiaoting, known for her competitive eating sessions, was attempting to consume 10kg of food on camera when the fatal incident occurred. Pan’s stomach was found to be deformed and filled with undigested food according to reports. The influencer was participating in a ‘Mukbang’ session, a trend where hosts eat on camera. While some questioned the need for such extreme challenges, others lamented the glorification of obesity and the dangers of overeating. Competitive eating, often seen as a sport, has gained popularity globally, with some countries imposing regulations on excessive eating in Mukbang content. Tragically, Pan’s death serves as a reminder of the risks associated with extreme eating practices.

Community Leaders in Missouri Address Impact of Senate Bill 5 on Municipal Fines and Safety, US

JOPLIN, Mo. — A nearly decade-old piece of legislation is sparking conversation among community leaders across Missouri.
Today, several of those people met with State Senator Jill Carter and State Representative Lane Roberts.
It used to be you could cite people, you could get people to clean their yards up, said Chief James Altic, Seneca Police Department.
Seneca police chief James Altic says changes enacted by the Missouri legislature nearly a decade ago changed that.
Right now, it’s virtually impossible to get them to do the things that, you want people to come to your community, you don’t want to drive into town and see the tall weeds, the brush, the trash they don’t take out, said Altic.
That’s just one of the issues that prompted this meeting with city leaders and Missouri State Senator Jill Carter and State Representative Lane Roberts.
What happened today was just a culmination of several conversations that we’ve had from municipalities to police officers that are local, said Senator Jill Carter.
Most of the discussion centered around Senate Bill 5 – legislation signed into law in 2015 dealing with municipal fines.
Like oftentimes happens, we’re just trying to bring that back down, to say, ok, that was an experiment in some public safety issues that maybe went too far, said Carter.
Through Monday’s meeting, Carter and Roberts were able to identify four specific areas that could potentially be addressed through legislation: creating penalties for failure to appear in municipal court, the time frames for a municipal judge to issue a warrant, and having to mail extra paperwork to defendants.
Seneca mayor Brad Storrs says Senate Bill 5 is impacting his town’s bottom line, specifically in the form of uncollected court debts.
He says the goal is for the town’s municipal court to be revenue neutral, neither making nor losing money. However, the uncollected debt is making that nearly impossible.
State representative Lane Roberts emphasizes that traffic enforcement isn’t about revenue but public safety. He highlights the importance of these efforts in keeping the public safe.
Carter and Roberts plan to work with legislative research to craft bills that could potentially be pre-filed this December.

Increase in Maternal Mortality During SARS-CoV-2 Peak in Chile: Study Findings

0

During the peak of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, there was an increase in maternal mortality in Chile. This is confirmed by a natural population experiment based on data from the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) of the Chilean Ministry of Health. The research was published in PLOS Global Public Health.

In a collaborative study, led by Professor Elard Koch, senior epidemiologist and founder of MELISA Institute (Chile), and conducted with a team of researchers from the Universidad Católica Sedes Sapientiae (Peru), the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina and the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (Argentina) and the Universidad de Chile (Chile), assessed the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on maternal mortalityby specific causes during its hardest stage in Chile. For this, time series that exploit information from long-term annual trends were used, along with ARIMA models to predict expected mortality under the hypothesis that previous mortality trends would continue in the absence of the pandemic virus-related mortality burden. Epidemiologist Yordanis Enriquez Canto explains that maternal mortality trends were analyzed over time, comparing data from before and during the pandemic, through a natural experiment in which the effects of an event are observed without experimental manipulation.

This study revealed a significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on maternal mortality in Chile. Interestingly, the pandemic did not affect direct obstetric deaths such as hemorrhage, sepsis and abortion, but rather non-respiratory indirect obstetric causes increased the most. Prof. Elard Koch observes that this is an important finding, as it confirms that the pathophysiology of this emerging virus, even though it is a respiratory coronavirus, seriously affected other systems and organs, possibly linked to comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and other or pre-existing chronic conditions. Likewise, the epidemiologist affirms that this finding differentiates it from the effect of other pandemics such as the 2009 H1N1 influenza, which caused a transient increase only in maternal deaths from sepsis and respiratory disease, as demonstrated in another natural experiment from Argentina published by Koch’s research team elsewhere.

The results of this natural experiment highlight the urgent need to strengthen the registration and surveillance system for pregnant women. Sociologist María Elena Critto highlights that the information obtained in this research is key so that, in the face of pandemic viruses, public policies can offer a rapid, comprehensive and effective response. She emphasizes that the data collected are extremely valuable for mitigating the adverse effects of these viruses on maternal mortality, both in Chile and in other countries in Latin America.

According to Dr. Aliro Galleguillos OB/Gyn and public health specialist from the Universidad de Chile, emphasizes that well-designed epidemiological studies during natural pandemic events are a substantial contribution to the knowledge of the natural history of emerging diseases and also allow to evaluate whether limited resources meet the true health needs of pregnant women. In this sense, the relevance of this scientific study lies in its fundamental role in monitoring the performance of public policies and serving as a basis for promoting evidence-based policies in future pandemic events.

Experts at UCLA Discuss Impact of Immigration Status on Climate Change Vulnerability, US

The way that the rules work are they’re pretty loose on the Democratic side, election law Rick Hasen told Abby Phillip on CNN’s NewsNight last month, noting that even if Biden stayed in, the party delegates could have legally voted for someone else. The delegates would have the ability to choose a nominee and because this is happening before the convention there would be enough time for other candidates to campaign to be the nominee, said Hasen, who is a law professor at University of California, Los Angeles. (Hasen was also featured by PBS NewsHour and KABC-TV.)

The Republican party is dead set against any new gun reform, and any Republican that opposes that view is subject to a primary challenge, said Adam Winkler, a UCLA law professor and gun rights expert.

A panel of experts hosted by UC Irvine and the Latino Policy and Politics Institute of UCLA came together to discuss how immigration status also plays a role in how hard communities are hit by climate change. The most vulnerable in our community really are the undocumented migrant workers, because they have to experience working in hazardous conditions in one of the sectors that has the least protections for its workers, said Silvia Gonzalez, Director of Research at the Latino Policy and Politics Institute at UCLA.

We need to actually cool our bodies down to sleep, said David Eisenman, professor of Medicine and Public Health at UCLA who studies the health impacts of extreme heat. So if we can’t cool our bodies down, our sleep becomes disturbed. That then has effects on our heart, on our immune system, on our psychology. Our inability to sleep is bad for our bodies and our minds.

The wildfire situation throughout the West has continued to escalate, and unfortunately I think will escalate considerably further in the days to come, Daniel Swain, a climate scientist at UCLA and the National Center for Atmospheric Research, said in a briefing Thursday. The last 30 days have been the warmest period on record for a very large portion of California and the West.

Census data on car-free households suggests the number of U.S. households with no vehicles has been relatively stable, fluctuating 8% to 8.6% from 2018 to 2022. Most of those households are below the poverty line. A very small percentage of those without cars truly make that choice, said Evelyn Blumenberg, an urban planning professor at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Artificial intelligence is outpacing doctors when it comes to detecting a common cancer in men. A new study from UCLA found that an AI tool identified prostate cancer with 84% accuracy — compared to 67% accuracy for cases detected by physicians, according to a press release from the university. (UCLA’s Dr. Joshua Trachenberg was quoted.)

Michael Karanicolas, executive director of the Institute for Technology, Law and Policy at UCLA, said Newsom should not veto the bills purely because of the threat of First Amendment lawsuits. He said that neither AB 1372 or SB 976 strike him as manifestly unconstitutional, but he noted that government regulation of social media is a new legal frontier.

Hydration supplements can replenish you when your fluid status is down – so after workouts, for hangovers or when you’ve been sick, says Dr. Vijaya Surampudi, an endocrinologist, nutrition specialist and professor at UCLA. Depending on their composition, some get better absorbed and improve your hydration. Some are just for flavoring and they can have a lot of sugar or artificial coloring – it can be like drinking a soda.

Marques Vestal, an assistant urban planning professor at UCLA, describes this change as a shift towards inward home ownership. People are moving into neighborhoods without the expectation that they will get along with the people there. They buy a piece of land and fortify, Vestal said.

There’s no time like the present. Right, time only moves in one direction, said Rebecca Gotlieb, a human developmental psychologist and educational neuroscientist at the University of California Los Angeles. And I want every student to have all the supports they need.

But Kent Wong with UCLA’s Labor Center said wearing union buttons is typically protected by labor laws. Rulings of the National Labor Relations Board … have supported the right of workers to wear buttons and T-shirts unless they expressly interfere with their work, he said.

Solana Price Analysis: Bullish Momentum Faces Retracement Amid Biden’s Exit Plan, US

0

BODEN reacted to news about President Joe Biden’s plan to exit the political scene and presidency.

Solana [SOL] is undoubtedly one of the best performing top cryptocurrencies so far this year. Its performance in the last two weeks confirmed that it was still in the group, but a retracement might be on the cards.

SOL pulled a robust bullish performance in the last two weeks that saw it rally as high as $187.15 during the weekend, a 52% recovery from its current monthly low.

While the current performance indicated that bulls were dominant, AMBCrypto also saw signs of a potential retracement along the way.

SOL’s performance during the weekend signaled that it managed to breakout from a 4-month descending resistance.

Nevertheless, it has now entered another resistance zone between the $180 and the $200 price range. Note that it had previously shown resistance within the same range, hence this is one zone to watch in the next few days.

SOL did manage to extend its upside well above the descending resistance. However, this could also present a potential induction level where shorting is likely to play out.

Indicators also corroborated the signs of a potential pullback. For example, the RSI briefly entered the overbought zone before the 3.41% correction observed in the 24-hours at the time of writing.

The resistance zone, coupled with a substantial number of traders, highlighted the likelihood of profit-taking. A look at SOL’s Open Interest heat map revealed a zone of interest within the $184 price level.

Consequently, the price did take a dip after failing to sustain bullish momentum above that range.

Solana’s short-term outlook suggested that a retracement might take place. However, the coin might be shaping up for a more bullish future.

Now that Ethereum [ETH] ETFs have been approved, Solana is the next major candidate.

Solana’s memecoin-fueled rally this year, as well as congestion, are reminiscent of the Ethereum’s performance during the 2021 bull run.

Elsewhere in the Solana ecosystem, we observed an interesting phenomenon. The Jeo Boden [BODEN] memecoin tanked by almost 60% after U.S. president Joe Biden announced that he will bow out of the presidential race.

The memecoin’s price reaction to the news of President Biden’s exit highlighted the rapid pace at which real-world news have an impact on crypto assets.

Raytheon Enhances Missile Production to Prioritize Ukraine Defense, US

0

Raytheon has been building its international co-production to meet an insatiable demand for its Patriot and National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System interceptors as it is working through the White House directive to prioritize Ukraine over other customers.

The Biden administration’s directive to move Ukraine to the front of the line for the interceptors has been understood by other international customers, mostly because they are NATO partners who themselves have been donating the interceptors to Ukraine, says Thomas Laliberty, the company’s president of Land and Air Defense Systems.

That said, they would like to understand, kind of, like the scope of what’s going on, he told reporters July 22 at the Farnborough Airshow here. So we’re still working with the United States Air Force to have a better response to that specific question.

But what I will tell you is, without kind of getting into the sort of details, we’re actively working with the U.S. Air Force to expand the capacity of our [AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile] production line so that we can surge our capacity to start delivering more and hopefully having enough to supply all our customers.

AMRAAM is the interceptor used by the NASAMS system. Raytheon is also growing partnerships to expand the Patriot capacity. These steps include an April announcement that it signed an agreement with Sener in Spain to modernize the missile’s control actuation system. The company has an agreement with Bayern-Chemie in Germany for rocket motor production. It also established an all-up round production agreement with MBDA to help double production of the interceptors.

At the end of last year, NATO ordered 1,000 Patriot Guided Enhanced Missile interceptors, which will be delivered by priority to individual members.

A key limiting factor is the production of solid rocket motors, which are in very high demand with a limited supply chain. Raytheon has struggled with provider Aerojet Rocketdyne to receive enough solid rocket motors. The company has since been acquired by L3Harris, which provides products for dozens of Raytheon programs. L3Harris is performing extremely well on some programs, while also having challenges to meet schedules on others, Laliberty says. Raytheon is looking at other ways to increase capacity, including a Nammo production line in Norway and Florida.

Google Censorship Escalates: Human Knowledge Under Attack, US

0

Many people are still unaware that Kennedy even participated in the debate via the Real Debate precisely because Google did its best to silence its users from informing their friends, family members and supporters to tune in on X to watch. Lori Weintz, writing for The Defender, a project of Kennedy’s Children’s Health Defense (CHD), says she sent out a few texts and a notice in a Google Group, with a link to the Real Debate website, only to have these notices permanently removed by Google within minutes.

Some commentary on the debate went back and forth in the group, Weintz writes. Thirty minutes after my first post, I received [an] email from Google Groups stating that they had ‘permanently removed’ my content because ‘an external report flagged the content for illegal content or policy violations.’

My post was removed ‘for the following reason: unwanted content,’ and I was informed, ‘You may have the option to pursue your claims in court.’

Human knowledge is under attack! Governments and powerful corporations are using censorship to wipe out humanity’s knowledge base about nutrition, herbs, self-reliance, natural immunity, food production, preparedness and much more. We are preserving human knowledge using AI technology while building the infrastructure of human freedom. Speak freely without censorship at the new decentralized, blockchain-power platform. Explore our free, downloadable generative AI tools. Support our efforts to build the infrastructure of human freedom by shopping for lab-tested, certified organic, non-GMO foods and nutritional solutions.

After clicking on the provided link to see which of her content was deleted, Weintz was unable to see anything as she was presented with a Content unavailable prompt from Google.

For the first time, I was censored by Big Brother for sharing an idea, without even being informed what my thoughtcrime was, Weintz says. I’m not on social media, so I have only been informed by others of the rampant censorship surrounding posts about Jan. 6, election integrity and the official COVID-19 response, among other taboo topics.

Even just five years ago, it was mostly unheard of for tech platforms like Google to take such blatantly anti-free speech measures on their platforms. Raids people’s private emails and groups to remove certain types of speech is an entirely new paradigm that is rapidly escalating across the entire tech spectrum.

It would have seemed a tongue-in-cheek reference to Orwell’s 1984 or an absurd comparison to totalitarian states where freedom of speech is not a thing, Weintz contends about how quickly the Censorship Industrial Complex has ballooned into the behemoth silencer of speech it has now become.

In addition to censoring content, Google also actively monitors private groups in search of unwanted speech. The company also probes its users’ personal emails in search of the same so entire emails can be flagged as dangerous.

Weintz wants to know who filed the external report against her in the first place, though she is not holding her breath that Google will ever fess up unless it has to via a court order. It could be the Biden regime, though, if the case of Murthy v. Missouri is any indication.

As can be read in the June 26 ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court, during the pandemic social media companies were harangued by various White House officials and the Office of the Surgeon General, Weintz reveals.

The platforms were pressured to remove posts, and even delete whole accounts, that were deemed ‘unhelpful’ by the government. Section 230 of the United States Code provides immunity to online platform services for content generated by their users. The White House threatened the removal of that protection if the social media platforms didn’t comply with Big Brother’s wishes.

Truth is getting harder and harder to find the more the deep state censors and removes it from the internet and public conversation. Learn more at Censorship.news.
