Young single adults in Utah and surrounding areas still have an opportunity to attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Gather Together Conference. This month-long conference aims to help young single adults forge new connections and strengthen their faith.
The next event of the conference will take place on Saturday afternoon through the evening, August 19th, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. The event will kick off at 12 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. A lineup of prominent Latter-day Saints and leaders, including Steven Sharp Nelson of The Piano Guys, artist Kate Lee, Brad Pelo, the Executive Producer of The Chosen, and Liz Darger, BYU Senior Associate Athletic Director, will be present. The keynote speaker will be President Camille N. Johnson, the Relief Society General President.
To learn more about the specific events within the conference, attendees can visit the Gather Together Conference website.
The conference’s final event will be held on Sunday evening, August 20th, at 6 p.m., at the BYU Marriot Center in Provo, Utah. The event will also be broadcast on the conference’s website for those within the Utah Area. Elder D. Todd Christofferson, who was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church in 2008, will deliver the main address. Prior to his sacred calling, Elder Christofferson practiced law and even served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge John J. Sirica during the Watergate proceedings.
To register for the final two events, interested individuals can visit the Eventbrite website. The registration fee for attending both events is $25. As parking will be limited, carpooling is recommended. Additionally, registered attendees for the August 19th conference can avail free UTA services.
