In a tragic turn of events, an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon has resulted in the loss of innocent lives, specifically three Lebanese girls and their grandmother. This heartbreaking incident has drawn significant attention and condemnation, prompting a swift response from Hezbollah, the prominent Lebanese militant group.
The victims of this devastating airstrike are identified as Samira Abdel Hassan Ayoub, and her granddaughters Remas, Talin, and Enas. The girls’ mother, Hoda Abdel Nabi Hijazi, sustained injuries as their civilian car came under direct attack, leading to a fire that added to the tragedy.
Hezbollah, renowned for its staunch resistance against Israeli actions, issued a statement in retaliation to what they described as a heinous act committed by the Israeli military. The statement announced that Islamic resistance fighters, on November 5, 2023, targeted the Kiryat Shmona settlement with a series of Grad missiles.

Hezbollah’s statement emphasized their commitment to protecting civilians from harm and aggression and stressed that their response would be both resolute and formidable. Hasan Fadlallah, a Member of Parliament representing Hezbollah, expressed his outrage in a televised interview, promising that the perpetrators would face the consequences of their actions. Fadlallah underlined the resilience of the southern Lebanese people in the face of Israeli transgressions.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati also condemned the Israeli attack and pledged that it would not go unpunished. He announced the pursuit of international diplomatic channels, including a formal complaint to the United Nations Security Council. Mikati criticized the international community for overlooking the actions of the Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon and Gaza.
Additionally, the Free Patriotic Movement decried the Israeli aggression, warning Western nations that support Israel about their responsibility in preventing further escalation. They extended their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
Talal Arslan, the leader of the Lebanese Democratic Party, expressed his concerns regarding the situation, highlighting the contrast between rational statements made by Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, and the Israeli enemy’s resort to violence and force.
Speaker Nabih Berri also strongly condemned the deliberate targeting of civilians and paramedics, labeling it as organized state terrorism. He stressed the need to address the ongoing crisis and the aggressive stance of the Israeli entity in both Gaza and southern Lebanon.
It’s important to note that four paramedics were wounded in a separate incident when an Israeli drone targeted an ambulance belonging to the Amal Movement-affiliated Islamic Risala Scout Association.
Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah had issued a warning to the Israeli enemy just two days before the tragic incident, cautioning against escalations that could harm Lebanese civilians. He emphasized that all possibilities on the Lebanese front remain open, with all options on the table.
This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing tensions in the region and the human cost of the conflict. The international community is closely monitoring the situation as efforts are made to seek justice for the victims and their grieving families.
