International Outrage over Terror Attacks in Mastung and Hangu

The recent terror attacks in Mastung and Hangu have sparked international outrage, with countries from around the world condemning the violence and expressing their condolences to the victims’ families. Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were targeted by suicide bombers on what should have been a day of celebration, turning it into a day of mourning.

In Balochistan’s Mastung district, a suicide blast claimed the lives of at least 52 people, including a police officer, and left 60 others injured. Meanwhile, in Hangu, a mosque was ripped apart by a blast, resulting in five deaths, including a policeman, and leaving 12 people injured.

The United States, through the State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller, expressed its condemnation of the attacks, acknowledging that Pakistanis deserve to practice their faith without fear. The US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, also extended support to Pakistan and its people, vowing to stand by them in the face of such vicious attacks.

Saudi Arabia, too, denounced the terrorist acts and reaffirmed its commitment to rejecting violence and terrorism wherever it occurs. The Kingdom expressed full solidarity with Pakistan and its people, offering its sincere condolences to the victims’ families and the government.

The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks, emphasizing its permanent rejection of violence and terrorism that undermines security and stability. The ministry conveyed condolences and sympathy to the government and people of Pakistan, along with wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

Iraq’s Foreign Affairs Ministry highlighted the ugliness of the ideology held by extremist terrorist groups, emphasizing the need for increased cooperation and coordination to confront these threats to collective security.

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi sent a letter to President Arif Alvi, expressing hope for the swift identification and justice for the perpetrators. Iran also expressed its readiness to cooperate with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and extremism, appealing to the international community to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Algeria, France, Türkiye, and Egypt also condemned the attacks, offering condolences for the loss of lives and solidarity with Pakistan. These countries reasserted their firm stance against violence, terrorism, and the intimidation of citizens, while praying for the quick recovery of the injured.

In response to the attack in Mastung, a case has been registered against unknown attackers, with investigations ongoing. The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta has booked the culprits under multiple charges.

The global community’s condemnation of these attacks underscores the universal rejection of violence and terrorism. The international support for Pakistan and its people in this difficult time serves as a reminder of the need for global coordination in combating such heinous crimes. Measures are being taken to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the security and stability of the country.
