Canada Accused by India of Sheltering Wanted Terrorists and Gangsters

In a contentious development, the Indian government has accused Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his party of providing shelter to wanted terrorists and gangsters within Canada’s borders. Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu revealed that numerous gurdwaras, or Sikh temples, were allegedly under the control of slain Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and banned leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of the organization Sikhs for Justice. According to Bittu, these individuals facilitate the regular donation of millions of pounds to Trudeau, his ministers, and their party.

Bittu further lambasted Trudeau for making statements in support of individuals like Pannun and Nijjar, who have been linked to terrorist activities. The Congress MP not only criticized the Canadian Prime Minister for this stance but also claimed that drugs were being smuggled from Canada to Punjab. He went on to state that out of the top 10 terrorists and gangsters from Punjab, eight are currently residing in Canada.

Furthermore, it was alleged that Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a prominent Khalistani terrorist, has openly threatened to prevent Hindus from residing in Canada. Bittu highlighted that Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the right-hand man of the individual responsible for his grandfather’s murder, had sought refuge in Canada after fleeing Punjab.

Expressing concern over the situation, Bittu called upon the 99.5 percent of peace-loving Indians residing in Canada to exert pressure on the Canadian government. He emphasized the importance of preserving harmonious relations between the two nations to prevent any adverse implications for the people.

The remarks came amid discussions in Parliament on Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau’s visit to India in 2018. It was mentioned that Trudeau’s plane had also encountered technical difficulties during this previous visit. Bhartrihari Mahtab, occupying the Chairman’s chair, revealed that the Indian government had offered to provide a plane for Trudeau’s use during his recent trip.

Bittu also asserted that the gangsters residing in Canada were orchestrating killings and murders in Punjab, exacerbating the security concerns. While details of this accusation are yet to be verified, it has added to the growing tensions between India and Canada regarding the sheltering of wanted criminals on Canadian soil.

The allegations made by the Indian government have evoked concerns regarding terrorism, gang violence, and the smuggling of drugs. As this situation unfolds, the international community will be closely watching to see how India and Canada address these accusations and work towards resolving the issues that have strained relations between the two nations.
