Chandra Kumar Nath, husband of Assam woman BJP leader Junali Nath, who was found dead in Goalpara district, has filed an FIR against CID IGP Debaraj Upadhyay. He alleges that the investigative report is doubtful. Kumar claims that the police’s narrative on the case has been changed and that the extramarital affair angle on the case is unacceptable and that Junali’s character is unquestionable. The police have claimed Junali was murdered by her lover, Hasanur Islam. Islam was detained on Monday evening and admitted to having an affair with Junali for over two years. Islam stated that he hit her in the car when she questioned his marriage, rendering her unconscious. After realizing that she was dead, he left her near the road and drove off, banging her head on the hard portion of the automobile. Junali’s family has sought an apology from the police and a thorough investigation to identify the culprit.
