Helen (Clark) Whitcomb, Beloved Brunswick Resident, Dies at 91 in Cumberland, US

Helen (Clark) Whitcomb, 91, of Brunswick, passed away on Feb. 24, 2024, at her daughter Deborah’s residence in Cumberland. Born on June 23, 1932, to Leroy J. Clark and Leslie E. Pierce, Helen led a life filled with love and kindness. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jackie H. Clark, Sr., and her second husband, Harold K. Whitcomb.

Throughout her career, Helen worked diligently at various establishments, including Cabot, Eastland Shoe, and L.L.Bean. She also co-ran a children’s daycare with her late husband in Winthrop. Helen had a warm smile and a welcoming personality that endeared her to all who knew her. Her dedication to her faith, church community, and daily Bible reading characterized her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Weed and Vickie Malloy, her sons Jackie H. Clark, Jr., Garry Clark, and adopted son Rudy Bourgeois, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at Maine Street Baptist Church in Brunswick on March 23, with Pastor Mike Bolos officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mid Coast Humane Society of Brunswick or Northern Lights Home Care and Hospice. Helen will be dearly missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished forever.
