On August 16, 2022, Sam Rimmer, a young mechanic and expectant father, was standing with friends on Lavrock Bank, Dingle, when masked gunmen arrived on the scene. Without warning, they opened fire with a Skorpion machine pistol, fatally injuring Sam. Despite efforts from emergency services, Sam passed away shortly after in the hospital.
