Governor Appoints Matthew Neher as New District Court Judge in Nebraska’s 11th Judicial District
Nebraska’s 11th Judicial District is set to welcome a new district court judge following Governor Jim Pillen’s recent appointment of Matthew Neher. Neher, a seasoned legal professional, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in various capacities within the legal field.
Matthew Neher has been serving in the Dawson County Attorney’s Office since 2011, where he most recently held the position of chief deputy county attorney. During his time at the county attorney’s office, Neher specialized in criminal law and civil litigation. Prior to this, he worked as a partner at the Forney Neher Law Firm in Omaha.
Taking over the position from retiring Judge James E. Doyle IV, Neher’s appointment aims to ensure the seamless functioning of the 11th Judicial District. Known for his dedication and expertise, Neher is well-prepared for the responsibilities that lie ahead.
Neher holds a Juris Doctor degree from the prestigious Creighton University School of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at Asbury University in Kentucky, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In his new role as district court judge, Neher will primarily preside over cases in Dawson County. However, the jurisdiction of the 11th Judicial District extends to numerous counties, including Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Furnas, Frontier, Gosper, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow, and Thomas.
