Flagler County Commission will discuss a proposed settlement with Captain’s BBQ, improvements to Wadsworth Park, and the county’s finances during their upcoming meeting. The settlement with Captain’s BBQ aims to resolve a longstanding lawsuit and involves the county paying $800,000 to the restaurant and allowing the construction of a new establishment at Bings Landing, a county park.
Meanwhile, the City of Palm Coast is preparing for its 11th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Central Park in Town Center. The event, scheduled for November 25, will be attended by Santa, the Palm Coast City Council, and the Rotary Club of Flagler County. A beautiful tree will be illuminated to mark the beginning of the festive season.
Additionally, Palm Coast’s Town Center will be transformed into an enchanting display of lights for the Rotary’s Fantasy Lights Festival. Visitors can enjoy 55 lighted displays as they stroll around the park’s pond. The festival, which runs from November 25 to December 31, is free to attend, but donations to support Rotary’s service work are welcomed. Santa’s Village and live musical performances will contribute to the festive atmosphere on select nights.
In the spirit of giving, a toy drive for Toys for Tots will be held at AW Custom Kitchens in European Village. The drive will culminate on December 23, and donors will have a chance to win various prizes, including a 65-inch 4K Smart TV, an Apple iPad, Apple Air Pods, and gift cards from event sponsors. Complimentary food and drinks will be provided, and activities such as a bouncy house will entertain children.
These upcoming events provide opportunities for Flagler County residents and visitors to come together, enjoy the holiday season, and support local businesses and organizations. From resolving legal matters to spreading joy through community activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Flagler County.
