Arif Saleem Bohru from Jammu and Kashmir has become the first professional wrestler from the region after enrolling in The Great Khali’s Wrestling Academy in Jalandhar. Arif, who is known by his ring name ‘Badshah Khan,’ was inspired by the achievements of The Great Khali, and decided to pursue professional wrestling as a career. Arif’s passion for the sport resulted in a success rate of 85 percent in over 300 matches, making him a role model for aspiring wrestlers across the region. He considers social media a vital tool for the growth of his career, as his wrestling videos went viral, amassing a substantial following.
Arif’s relentless training schedule includes six hours of workouts and four hours of wrestling to keep himself in top shape for competitions. He has set his sights on competing in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and becoming the world champion. Arif hopes for some financial support from the government of Jammu and Kashmir to achieve his dream.
He believes sports play a crucial role in leading a healthy lifestyle and has been urging youngsters to stay away from drugs. Arif emphasizes the importance of representing his country and his region, particularly in the world of professional wrestling. He feels fearless in the ring, saying, I am not afraid of anyone within that ring because I showcase the true power of Kashmir and India. I aim to represent India and Kashmir worldwide.
