Filmmaker Farah Khan recently shared her admiration for veteran actor and dancer Helen, saying that she has always been an inspiration to her. Khan recounted her childhood memories of dancing to Helen’s songs, including climbing on tables in her house to perform. She also shared an emotional experience while shooting a dance number with Helen in the 2000 film ‘Mohabbatein’. During rehearsals, Khan was overcome with emotion and cried while standing in a corner. Helen, who was introduced to Bollywood in 1953 by dancer Cuckoo, is known for her iconic performances in films such as ‘Howrah Bridge’ and her unique style of wearing colorful wigs and skimpy outfits. Farah Khan praised performances on the dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer 3’ and said that duo Shivam Wankhede and Sonali Kar reminded her of Helen and Shammi Ji, and had a long way to go in their careers. ‘India’s Best Dancer 3’ is judged by Terence Lewis, Geeta Kapur, and Sonali Bendre and airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
