Former federal minister Firdous Ashiq Awan has vehemently denied allegations of mistreatment and abuse towards her domestic staff, stating that the matter is far more complex than it appears. A video depicting an enraged Awan shouting at a man and a woman, presumedly her house helpers, during a heated argument in a living room, has been widely circulating on social media.

Awan, now the spokesperson for the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, was caught on tape claiming to have slapped the woman. Nevertheless, in an interview with Geo News, she refuted the allegations, asserting that she had not tortured or mistreated anyone.

The minister contends that the video in question is an old recording that is being misinterpreted, as it actually pertains to a case of theft rather than abuse. Awan further described these claims as baseless drama orchestrated to tarnish her reputation.

This is an old video taken at someone else’s house where I was called to mediate a theft issue, Awan clarified.

Challenging her critics, she demanded concrete evidence proving that the woman featured in the video was her house help. Awan challenged them to bring forth the alleged victim of mistreatment or torture.

According to Awan, there is a criminal gang that infiltrates people’s homes and resorts to blackmail whenever they are caught. She believes that the video was deliberately made viral with the purpose of extorting her.

Awan announced her intention to file a complaint with the cybercrime cell against the individual responsible for uploading the video. Additionally, she called for an investigation into the person who disseminated the footage on social media.

In conclusion, former minister Firdous Ashiq Awan has refuted allegations of mistreatment and abuse captured in a viral video. She maintains that the recording pertains to an unrelated theft incident, while denouncing the claims against her as baseless drama intended to defame her. Awan has vowed to take legal action against those responsible for sharing the video and stands firm in her denial of mistreating anyone.
