Title: Couple Embarks on Spectacular Wedding Ceremony by Hiking Vermont Mountain in Wedding Gowns

Alicia and Crystal Blakely, a couple from Vermont, decided to make their wedding day truly extraordinary. They chose to exchange vows at the summit of Camel’s Hump, a picturesque mountain in Huntington, Vermont. On September 30th, Alicia and Crystal hiked up the 4,083-foot mountain in their wedding gowns, surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of Vermont’s iconic fall foliage.

The decision to have a mountaintop ceremony was a reflection of the couple’s love for nature and their shared passion for hiking. Alicia, a nurse from Massachusetts, and Crystal, a physical therapy student from Vermont, have always enjoyed exploring the great outdoors together. They met as roommates at Dean College a decade ago and their friendship slowly blossomed into a deep romantic connection.

Last fall, Alicia surprised Crystal with a mountaintop proposal on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. The couple had discussed marriage before, but the proposal itself was a surprise. Crystal happily said yes, and they began planning their nontraditional wedding.

To capture the magic of their unique ceremony, Alicia and Crystal enlisted the help of Amelia Kehoe, a skilled photographer and officiant specializing in adventurous weddings and elopements in New England. Kehoe has hiked with couples before, but Camel’s Hump marked her highest peak climbed on the job.

The couple’s love for hiking was evident during the ceremony as they stood on the summit amid cheers and support from fellow hikers. Crystal’s family has a special connection to Camel’s Hump, as her grandparents had hiked there, and it was also the location of her grandfather’s final hike at the age of 88. Alicia’s family was equally thrilled to witness this intimate and extraordinary celebration of love.

To ensure they could comfortably hike in their wedding gowns, Alicia and Crystal chose lightweight dresses that allowed freedom of movement. They paired their dresses with practical hiking boots, and each took turns carrying a backpack filled with bouquets, champagne, and a Just Married! sign for the hike down.

The couple’s choice to have a nontraditional wedding reflects a growing trend among couples who seek a more intimate and personalized experience rather than a traditional ceremony with a large guest list. Alicia and Crystal’s mountaintop wedding perfectly embodies this desire.

The newlyweds later celebrated with their close friends and family at Crystal’s parents’ house nearby. The experience of their mountaintop ceremony, along with the overwhelming support they received from the hiking community, left an indelible mark on Alicia and Crystal.

Through their unique wedding, Alicia and Crystal hope to spread a positive message of inclusivity and love, especially in today’s news climate. Their extraordinary mountaintop ceremony reminds us that love knows no boundaries and can be celebrated in the most spectacular and meaningful ways.

Alicia and Crystal’s love story proves that love can take us to new heights, quite literally, as they embarked on a memorable journey to exchange vows at the summit of Camel’s Hump. Their shared love for hiking and nature made this adventurous wedding a truly magical and unforgettable experience.
