In a disturbing incident that took place early morning of June 12, liquor bottles were thrown at a mosque in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. According to reports, some unidentified anti-social elements arrived in a car and threw liquor bottles at the mosque, located on AB road in the city. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, which was later submitted to the police by members of the mosque committee who lodged a complaint.
Subsequently, the police have registered a case against the unknown perpetrator under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 295 (A), which pertains to deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings. The MIG Police station in charge, Ajay Verma, has confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and nab the accused.
Speaking about the incident, Verma said, The incident occurred at around 4 am on Monday. Some anti-social elements came in a car, out of which one person threw the liquor bottles in the mosque. A case has been registered against an unknown person under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 295 (A) and started efforts to nab the accused.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation, with many people expressing their outrage on social media. Such acts of intolerance and disrespect towards any religious institution or community are deplorable and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. The police must take swift action to identify and apprehend the culprit and ensure that justice is served.
