OUAGADOUGOU – Burkina Faso’s air forces conducted airstrikes on terrorist bases in the Eastern and Sahel regions on Saturday, targeting insurgents who had launched a large-scale attack on the town of Boungou. The terrorists were ultimately repelled by the Fighting Forces with bravery and determination.
According to security sources, after driving back the terrorists, the air forces pursued the fleeing militants to their stronghold, approximately fifteen kilometers from Boungou. Intensive airstrikes were then executed, completely destroying the terrorist base and its equipment.
In a related incident on the same day, the Combatant Forces encountered an ambush by terrorists in the Falagountou area within the Sahel region. The swift response of the forces forced the attackers to retreat to a heavily forested base to the south. An aerial missile strike was launched on this location while the terrorists were regrouping, resulting in their elimination.
