BJP MP Slams Priyanka Gandhi for Spreading Misinformation on Social Media

BJP MP Shankar Lalwani strongly criticized Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for disseminating misinformation on social media. Lalwani’s comments came in response to an FIR (First Information Report) filed against Priyanka Gandhi, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, and former Union Minister Arun Yadav over a social media post accusing the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) government in Madhya Pradesh of corruption.

Priyanka Gandhi had shared a news clip containing a letter that alleged corruption by the Madhya Pradesh government. Lalwani deemed the act of sharing the letter on official handles as improper and against public interest. He emphasized the importance of prominent leaders verifying facts before posting on social media. He further stated that an FIR had been registered against Priyanka Gandhi, Kamal Nath, Arun Yadav, Jairam Ramesh, and Shobha Ojha for sharing the letter. While these sections are bailable, the Congress leaders and the person who wrote the letter will be summoned for questioning.

The Delhi High Court is currently considering granting prisoners private time with their spouses, and in Uttar Pradesh, a case of alleged medical negligence resulted in a stillborn child being brought dead to a hospital, highlighting the need to prioritize factual information in public discourse.

Lalwani highlighted the transformative changes implemented by the current government, emphasizing that the Modi-led administration ensures accountability by directly depositing funds into beneficiaries’ bank accounts. He cautioned against levying accusations without verifying facts, noting that a previous Congress government had faced similar claims regarding the misallocation of funds.

Priyanka Gandhi had recently alleged that contractors from Madhya Pradesh only receive pending payments after paying a 50% commission. However, it remains to be seen whether the claims made in the letter have any basis in reality.
