Mohammad Riyaz, a car wash attendant from Bihar, has captured attention for his remarkable ingenuity. The 20-year-old from Patori village in Bihar’s Samastipur district has constructed a battery-operated bike using entirely scrap materials. His creation, a fully functional and eco-friendly vehicle, has earned him admiration throughout the region.

Riyaz’s innovative bike can reach speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour and cover over 50 kilometers when fully charged. What sets his bike apart is its eco-friendly design, complete with a digital meter for monitoring battery levels and remote-control technology, eliminating the need for a conventional key or switch.

Motivated by the escalating petrol prices and their impact on households, Riyaz wanted to create a sustainable and cost-effective alternative. His bike not only reduces fuel expenses but also lessens environmental harm. To enhance functionality, Riyaz incorporated a battery voltmeter, LED indicators, and LED headlights, all sourced online.

Despite spending just Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 on his project, Riyaz managed to build a bike that competes with electric bikes on the market costing between Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000. His determination and vision have propelled him to create an innovative solution that combines pragmatism and environmental consciousness.
