President Biden’s aides are reportedly concerned about the Special Counsel’s report on the president’s handling of classified documents revealing embarrassing details, according to Axios. While they do not expect to face criminal charges, Biden’s team is worried about the potentially damaging information that could be included in the report.

The discovery of classified documents from Biden’s time as vice president at the Penn Biden Center in November 2022 raised eyebrows. CBS News was the first to report on the findings in January 2023. The situation escalated when it was revealed that more classified documents were discovered at Biden’s Delaware home.

Although the documents were not previously requested or inquired about by the Archives, Richard Sauber, special counsel to the White House, stated that the president’s personal attorneys have been cooperating with the process to ensure proper handling of any Obama-Biden Administration records.

The report by Special Counsel Robert Hur is expected to be released soon, potentially this week. While criminal charges are not anticipated, Biden’s aides worry about the political damage that may arise from the report’s detailed information.

In defense of the documents’ discovery, Biden made a statement in January 2023. I’m going to get the chance to speak on all of this, God willing it’ll be soon, but I said earlier this week — and by the way my Corvette is in a locked garage. It’s not like it’s sitting out in the street, he said.

Photos of how the documents were stored could spark a political storm, similar to what happened when photos of Trump’s document storage practices at Mar-a-Lago were released, including some stored in a bathroom.

The scandal surrounding classified documents is not a new occurrence, as former President Trump faced scrutiny when FBI agents raided his Mar-a-Lago estate in August 2022, seizing classified records. Trump was subsequently indicted on various federal counts, including the willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and false statements.

The indictment revealed that the documents stored by Trump contained sensitive information about defense and weapons capabilities, nuclear programs, potential vulnerabilities to military attacks, and plans for possible retaliation. The unauthorized disclosure of such classified documents posed a risk to national security, foreign relations, the safety of the US military, as well as human sources and sensitive intelligence collection methods.

As Biden’s aides await the release of the Special Counsel’s report, they remain concerned about the potential political implications. The anticipation grows as the details within the report, including any embarrassing revelations and photos related to the handling of classified documents, may have a significant impact on the president and his administration.

It is important to note that the information provided is based on reports from Axios, CBS News, and statements from President Biden. The final release of the report may provide additional details and insights into the situation.
