Baltimore Triplets Overcome Premature Birth to Pursue College Dreams Together
From the NICU to an HBCU (Historically Black College and Universities), a set of Baltimore triplets born severely premature are now getting ready to start college – together.
Sharnetta Hicks had a high-risk pregnancy when her three surprise miracles were born. Each weighing less than two pounds and born just a minute apart, their chances of survival seemed bleak. They were so tiny that their hands could fit through their father’s wedding band.
Over nearly two decades, the Hicks family dedicated themselves to nurturing and preparing their triplets for the ride of a lifetime. They provided unwavering support, focusing on faith and academics, to ensure their dream of attending college together could be realized.
