Newport on the Levee, a popular destination in Newport, Kentucky, is set to welcome a new addition to its food hall – Stick and Buns. This Asian street fare restaurant is expected to open in the fall, marking the fourth and final establishment in the food hall.
Newport on the Levee has been working diligently in recent years to cultivate an atmosphere that embraces the city’s culture and fosters a sense of community for visitors. While the Levee has been in operation since 2001, a major redevelopment process commenced in June 2019 to transform the outdoor spaces and surrounding buildings into something more appealing to everyone, including the Galley on the Levee.
The Galley Group, which debuted the food hall earlier this year, has already introduced several diverse restaurants, such as Four Mile Pig, Los Tacos Hermanos, and Zaria Italian Street Eats. To complement the wide range of culinary genres, the Galley Group announced the arrival of Stick and Buns, a new concept built around the rich and diverse flavors of Asian street fare.
Stick and Buns will offer a unique menu, featuring enticing dishes like Korean chicken wings, crispy Thai chicken bowls, and pork belly bao buns. Co-owners Lee Cummings and Mike Cappellino bring more than 22 years of experience in the culinary industry to this exciting venture.
When asked about the partnership with Galley Group, Cummings expressed enthusiasm: When presented the opportunity to venture into a restaurant space alongside a seasoned partner like Galley Group, we quickly jumped at the chance to attach our brand to this established and thriving concept. The company’s multi-city presence is a testament to its expertise and proven track record, and we felt like the cherry on top was its hospitality approach, which aligns perfectly with our vision for Stick and Buns.
Stick and Buns will be the second Asian restaurant at Newport on the Levee, joining Bon Mi Street, which offers Vietnamese sandwiches, boba tea, and smoothies. The Galley on the Levee, which also opened this year, features a vibrant Cuban restaurant called Amador.
