Late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs’ iconic Birkenstock sandals have been immortalized with an exact replica. The art project called ABCD by Jose Wong has recreated the famous footwear, replicating every last detail of the original pair, including the distressed wash and faded details. The replica, known as the ABCD 2066 Slide, is made of brown suede leather and features suede strap uppers, a worn footbed, and even the exact foot markings left by Steve Jobs himself.
The replica sandals were recently unveiled by Jose Wong on Instagram, where a series of pictures showcased the distressed and faded appearance of the iconic footwear. At first glance, they resemble a pair of sandals that have been run over by a truck, adding to their unique charm.
The ABCD 2066 Slide is available for purchase on Jose Wong’s website for $128 (approximately Rs 10,619). The replica features a cow suede upper, distressed washed and faded details, and custom hardware with an EVA sole and suede lining. Customers who buy the sandals will receive them packaged in a custom trash bag and a chocolate air freshener.
The original pair of Steve Jobs’ Birkenstock sandals, which still carried the imprints of his feet, were sold at an auction for a whopping Rs 1.77 crore ($218,750) in November 2022. The auction described the sandals as being personally owned and worn by Steve Jobs in the 1970s and 1980s. They were previously owned by Mark Sheff, the house manager to Steve Jobs, and were reportedly worn by Jobs during many significant moments in Apple’s history.

His unique fashion choices and iconic footwear have become synonymous with his legacy.
