Beloved Mascoutah Homemaker Helen L. Pritchett Passes Away at 89, Leaving a Lasting Legacy

Mascoutah, IL – Helen L. Pritchett, a beloved homemaker and member of Central Baptist Church in Willisville, IL, has passed away at the age of 89. She was born on October 21, 1933, in Willisville, IL, and peacefully departed on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

Helen will be remembered as a dedicated homemaker who lovingly cared for her family. During her children’s formative years, she actively participated in their education, serving as the president of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and a den mother for the Cub Scouts.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Paul C. and Mabel VanOver, her husband Robert F. Pritchett, whom she married on April 5, 1953, in Cutler, IL, and her daughter Carol Jean Pritchett. She is also mourned by her brother Heardy P. VanOver, sisters Juanita VanOver and Gerturde Kaemmermann, as well as her daughter-in-law Susan Pritchett.

Helen leaves behind a lasting legacy through her five children: Robert Pritchett of Shiloh, IL, Dr. Kevin (Annette) Pritchett of Swansea, IL, Karen (Jeffrey) Nash of Mascoutah, IL, Barbara Ernst of Mascoutah, IL, and Dr. Steven (Joan) Pritchett of Mascoutah, IL. Her love extends to 11 grandchildren: Lisa (Sean) Daily, Emily Pritchett, Ryan (Maryl) Pritchett, Lauren and Shannon Pritchett, Jessica and Rachel Baker, Amber (Zack) Green, Austin Ernst, Alex and Nickolaus Pritchett. Additionally, she cherished her seven great-grandchildren: Elijah, Alivia, Evelyn, Ari, Leo, Harper, and Lukus. Helen is also survived by her sisters Earlene VanOver and Ruth Jeremiah, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Central Baptist Church at 913 Broadway St., Willisville, IL 62997. Condolences can be shared with the family by visiting mollfuneralhome.com.

Visitation for family and friends will take place from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, August 14, 2023, and from 9 to 10 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Moll Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer. Following the service, Helen will be laid to rest at Looney Springs Cemetery in Campbell Hill, IL.

Helen L. Pritchett will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her caring nature, active involvement in her community, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones will forever be remembered.
